CSX Derby Train 2005

These were taking May 04, 2005 while CSX was bringing the Derby Train into Frankfort to tie it down in preperation for the Derby Day Excursion for the Governor of KY and invited guests. Normally CSX uses a matched pair of EMD F40PH units, but unfortunately this year they had a problem. On the way from Nashville to Louisville, they kicked up some manner of trash off the mainline and punctured the diesel tank on engine 9993, so it had to be left in Louisville for repairs. They substituted EMD GP40-2 #6116 for the excursion. This is one of the few times you will ever see one of the F40PH units without the other.
